Rocky our Borador Firewood Dog

Rocky our Borador Firewood Dog

At 100 Acre Firewood one of our mascots/helpers is our 7 year old Border Collie Lab(Borador for the dog lovers out there..) named Rocky.

What to say about this crazy dog? First off a quick picture that captures just a bit of his personality:

Rocky Our Border Collie Lab

Rocky is a character - he is scared of most things - especially any load noises around the farm. He absolutely hates hunting season. He is at his happiest when things are silent at the farm and we walk through the back fields as a family; he likes all the family sheep in the same place at the time.

Things that Rocky the Border Collie Lab likes: chicken treats, praise, good sheep, butter, long walks at the farm, breaking Manitoba Maple sticks, jumping through high grass and sleeping by the fireplace.

Things that Rocky hates: Toronto, Vets, Getting Brushed, Ticks, Loud Noises, Fireworks, Hunting Season, Other Dogs, Our Golf Cart, Scissors, Bad Sheep and most other things that are not on the likes list.

Rocky is a bit of handful but we love him, most of the time. He is FULL of anxiety and needs to be kept busy most of the time. He was supposed to be a working dog - a solo working dog. He is the "project" that is entire family can rally around - and he certainly is a project. You will see him in pictures and videos from time to time - he loves herding the Golf Cart and the Bobcat. Strangely he is not scared of being around the chainsaw - kind of wish he had more fear of that and less fear of the dark. Another quick pic of Rocky to close this post off - our little baby guarding some precious ash logs:

We love you Rocky - would be nice if you could chill out a bit.
